Parts Person – Ripon

We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Parts person to join our amazing team in Ripon.
Main purpose of Job:

To ensure all parts are ordered to enable the completion of all vehicles in the workshop/body shop and when in receipt of the parts check for correctness in terms of quantity and quality.

Key Objectives and Tasks:
  • Order and document all required parts, as identified by the estimate, and ensure that they are delivered on time. When appropriate chase the suppliers to make sure that delivery promises are adhered to thereby ensuring customer care/satisfaction at all times.
  • Take receipt of the parts at the loading bay and check off against the delivery note, booking the parts against the invoice, entering them on to the computer system and allocating them to the appropriate job. Urgently resolving any discrepancies with the supplier in order to ensure the job can commence as promised. Check parts for correctness and act accordingly.
  • Return any parts that do not conform to the original order or are no longer required and prepare credit documentation.
  • Identify and place all parts in a safe and secure storage area ensuring that there is no chance of damage and that they can be correctly identified and retrieved when required.
  • Be aware of and adhere to all the Housekeeping and Health and Safety regulations and policies applicable to your position and working environment.
  • Ensure that all external telephone calls are answered with the corporate greeting.
  • Follow the suppliers customer handling processes and ascertain the customer’s requirements.
  • Maintain a filing system for invoices and associated paperwork and provide parts delivery progress reports when requested by the workshop team.
  • Adhere to GDPR regulations.
Experience, Qualifications and Training:
  • Thorough understanding through experience or training on the parts person role and customer and supplier requirements.
  • Ability to manage and administer your time to achieve Company set parameters and efficiencies.
  • Able to work within a team to achieve objectives and high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Qualifications as required to carry out your duties in line with expectations.
