Panel Technician – Doncaster
We have a vacancy for a panel technician to be part of our amazing team at our site in Doncaster.
Due to the increasing volume of work we are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Panel Technician to join our amazing team in Doncaster.
Main purpose of Job:
- To undertake repair work on all makes of motor vehicles in a safe and economical manner, achieving the highest-possible standards of workmanship.
- To work effectively within the Bodyshop team to ensure industry-leading standards of customer care and satisfaction are achieved at all times.
Key Objectives and Tasks:
- Ensure all Job Repair work instructions are clearly read and understood prior to commencing work, and the completed details are recorded accurately and in full, using the Bodyshop Control Sheet.
- Ensure supplementary parts and labour requests orders are documented and communicated promptly to the Workshop controller and the Estimator.
- Ensure that the appropriate Technical Repair data is available and used for Mechanical repairs, obtained from Thatcham’s e-scribe or vehicle manufacturer’s information.
- Ensure all work is carried out accurately and to the highest-possible quality standards, complying with Health & Safety directives.
- Ensure the correct tools, parts and materials are used on each job to ensure compliance with technical repair standards and customer satisfaction
- Ensure that the correct protection for customer vehicles and contents is installed and maintained prior to work commencing, including the use of vehicle protection kits, displaced parts trolleys and small part containers.
- Ensure that Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is worn at all times during MET repair process activities as per training. (i.e. Eye, Ear and Hand Protection.)
- Ensure that the assigned work bay area is kept clean at all times – items of displaced materials disposed of at the end of the process in order that another job can be accepted into the bay without causing damage to the vehicle or persons, and also at the end of the working shift.
- Meet work in progress deadlines as set by Workshop Controller and/or the Director and company repair process procedures.
Experience, Qualifications and Training:
- Thorough understanding through experience or training on the Panel repair techniques of vehicles to industry standards and customer requirements.
- Up-to-date knowledge of health and safety legislation and trade practices.
- Able to work within a team to achieve objectives and high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Technical qualifications at NVQ Level 3 or Senior Panel IMI Accreditation.
